What is I want to know Whisky?
I want to know whisky is a company that provide online experiences designed to deliver engaging, fun and informative content online. The team behind I want to know whisky have been working in the bar and restaurant industry for the past 30 years and in online training provision for the past seven years. We develop all of the content in Edinburgh and our design team are as passionate about the products we talk about as they are about the content we create.
What is included in my purchase?
You can purchase I want to know whisky in two ways - as an e-gift or as a boxed gift. If you purchase the e-gift, this delivers all of the features of the experience but the recipient access code and guidance will be included in an email. If you opt to purchase as a boxed gift we will send you a beautiful gift box containing a unique access code and charming booklet.

How do I access the content?
If you have purchased the course for yourself your experience is instantly available on the Your journey page, if you have received the gift box then the instructions are inside the booklet and your access code is displayed on your gift card. Enter your access code on the Your journey page and create an account. Once you have an account you can select the option to sign in and out each time you visit the site. Select the Your journey tab to access and launch your course.
What is an access code?
Your access code is a unique 16 digit code that will either be contained within the email your received or contained within the gift box you received. Each access code is unique and can only be used by one individual. When you register with your access code the name you use will be the name displayed on the certificate at the end of the course.
Why does my access code say it is invalid?
An invalid access code is one that does not exist on our system. Firstly make sure you have entered the 16 digits exactly as it appears on the email or gift card and that you have good internet connection. If you are still experiencing difficulties then please email us at email@example.com.
Do I need to be connected to the internet all of the time?
Yes. We deliver online experiences and it is not possible to download the content of the course to run offline. You need to be connected to the internet with a reasonable download speed around 2mbps or more. If you are experiencing any problems with accessing the course it would be wise to check your internet connection and download speed. For optimising your experience we recommend the use of the latest versions of Chrome or Safari as your browser.
What kind of device can I use to access the course?
The I want to know whisky experience is built using the latest HTML5 technology which is designed to be compatible with laptops, desk tops, Macs, tablets and iPads. You can access the content on your mobile phone but we suggest that this is not suitable due to their smaller screen size. There are a number of minimum system requirements that we recommend to ensure you have a smooth and trouble free experience. We ask you have a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768, download a modern browser such as Chrome or Safari and ensure your internet connection is good. We recommend at least 1.5ghz of processing power and 1GB RAM.
To ensure your security we only allow the experience to be accessed on a maximum of 5 different devices.
What can I do if I experience problems working through the course?
We want you to really enjoy earning your certificate and discovering the wonderful world of Scotch whisky so if you experience any problems and you have checked your browser and internet connection are compatible then please get in touch. Before you do there are some simply checks you can do, it can help for example to clear your internet history including the cache.
If you are still experiencing problems please email us with a full description of what is going wrong and include screen shots or error messages when possible.

How long does the course last?
Your access code is valid for 12 months from the day you register it on our website. Once you have opened the experience you can dip in and out of it as many times as you like.
This ensures that you can enjoy the journey at your own pace. You can revsit the content at any time and of course all of the lovely downloadable material is yours to access and refer to for as long as you wish and watch out for updates too.
What if I fail the exam?
Don’t worry you can resit the exam as often as required, you need to get 16 out of 20 to earn your certificate - good luck!
Can I print my certificate more than once?
Your certificate and the downloadable reference material are available for you to download at any time and will remain available for you on the Your journey page
You can download and print the material or save locally as many times as you wish.
I have lost my access code, what should I do?
If you have already registered your access code then you can sign in at iwanttoknowwhisky.co.uk and enter the course via the Your journey page. If you have not yet registered your access code please provide us with proof of purchase and we will send you a replacement code.
What if I have purchased or been given the course as a gift and I am unable to use it on my computer?
We are unable to offer refunds on course delivered by email, products that have been opened or where the user has started the course. If you have purchased or been sent the gift box and no longer require it and it remains unopened it can be returned to us along with proof of purchase within 28 days. Gift boxes must be sent back in good condition.
If you are concerned your computer or tablet is not compatible please email us details and we will do our best to find a solution for you.
Can I get a refund on my purchase?
We are unable to offer refunds on courses delivered by email, products that have been opened or where the user has started the course. If you need to return the product to us please ensure it arrives with proof of purchase and in good condition. You can return the product within 28 days of purchase.
